Members of Scranton Technical High School's Class of 1973, who helped create a scholarship for graduating seniors in the Scranton School District, wanted to do something special for their upcoming 50th class reunion. The group helped establish an endowed scholarship in the Class of 1973's name at Penn State Scranton that will now be given out in perpetuity at the campus and serve as a link between the class and future generations of college students.
The Ukrainian Cossack dancers have entertained audiences of all ages in the Americas, Europe and Asia, and are bringing their talents to Penn State Scranton on Wednesday, Nov. 16, for a special program titled, “United with Ukraine — An Evening of Song, Dance and Music!” The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. in The View Café, located in the campus’ Study Learning Center, and is free and open to the public.
Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Nadine Ruane, a member of the campus' maintenance and operations team, has been named the Employee of the Month for November.
Penn State students, faculty and staff with older versions of the id+ card are being asked to submit new photos ahead of re-carding events that will be held University-wide during the spring 2023 semester. There are multiple ways to submit a photo, and photos will be accepted from Nov. 7 through Nov. 23.
Penn State Scranton’s Student Nursing Association is in the midst of a coat drive – collecting new and gently used coats and cold weather gear for women, men and children that will be donated to those in need as the winter months approach. Drop-offs continue through Oct. 27 in the Library, Room 8.
With the goal of creating a welcoming environment for its LGBTQ+ community, Penn State Scranton hosted a series of events on National Coming Out Day to commemorate LGBTQ+ History Month.
Penn State Scranton dedicated its new Engineering Building on Oct. 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi as a keynote speaker and approximately 100 guests, including University and community leaders, donors, faculty, staff and students.
