Penn State Laureate plans to explore commonwealth through a documentary lens

As the 2025-26 Penn State Laureate, filmmaker and associate professor Pearl Gluck is traveling across the commonwealth to share her films and examine how storytelling lives within communities — not only in places, but through the people who care for them: archivists, artists, educators, librarians, museum guides and local historians who serve as keepers of cultural memory.

Penn State Scranton Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology Fred Aebli’s contribution to the OLC Accelerate 2025 Conference — “How ChatGPT Turned My Final Exams Into AI-Powered Learning Labs" received a Best-in-Track designation in the Innovative and Effective Digital Learning Design track. As a result, he will be giving his presentation a second time via a live OLC webinar on Feb. 17 as part of a series this month featuring other OLC Best-in-Track honorees.

With Black History Month underway, Penn State Scranton is offering a week-long series of events aimed at celebrating Black history and culture, as well as a bus trip to the Black History Museum in Washington, D.C. The campus library also has a number of books, DVDs and informational materials on display in its main entranceway which students, faculty and staff can peruse and check out.
