Penn State Scranton is on a delayed start for Friday, Feb. 20 due to wintry conditions. The campus is closed from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. Offices will open and classes begin at 10 a.m. Essential personnel are to report as scheduled.
Pearl Gluck, the Penn State faculty member who serves as the Centre Film Festival’s artistic director and cofounder, helps drive the seven-year-old festival’s impact largely as a matchmaker — combining an educational and informational foundation with a collaborative, entertaining and fun approach during the weeklong festival.
Penn State Scranton Lecturer of Information Sciences and Technology Fred Aebli’s contribution to the OLC Accelerate 2025 Conference — “How ChatGPT Turned My Final Exams Into AI-Powered Learning Labs" — received a Best-in-Track designation in the Innovative and Effective Digital Learning Design track. As a result, he will be giving his presentation a second time via a live OLC webinar on Feb. 17 as part of a series this month featuring other OLC Best-in-Track honorees.
With Black History Month underway, Penn State Scranton is offering a week-long series of events aimed at celebrating Black history and culture, as well as a bus trip to the Black History Museum in Washington, D.C. The campus library also has a number of books, DVDs and informational materials on display in its main entranceway which students, faculty and staff can peruse and check out.
