First-Year Students

We are looking for students that want to share their individual passions and talents with the Penn State community. Your years at Penn State will not only shape your academic and career pursuits, but will broaden your perspective, establish life-long connections, and set the stage for experiences you cannot even begin to imagine.

Are you a First-Year Student?

You are considered a First-Year Student if you have:

  • Earned a high school diploma or the equivalent (GED) before enrolling at Penn State Scranton
  • Attempted fewer than 18 college credits after your high school graduation
  • Taken courses at another college or university before graduating from high school
23 students average class size. 13:1 student/faculty ratio. 55 Full-time faculty

What can I major in at Penn State Scranton?

More than 275 Penn State majors can be started at Penn State Scranton, and completed at University Park or another Penn State location. 11 baccalaureate degrees can be completed at the Scranton campus, as well as four associate degrees, and a variety of minors.
