Let us help you.
Choosing the right college and academic program is critical to your success both on campus and in your career. If you are a veteran or military affiliated student interested in starting or continuing your degree at Penn State Scranton, we are happy to outline the important admissions steps you need to lead you on the path towards becoming a Penn State student.
What Veterans and Military Need to Apply
As an actively serving member of the armed services or a veteran, you are classified as an adult learner at Penn State. Military/veteran students do not have any additional admissions requirements they need to fulfill other than the requirements for their applicant type (first-year, transfer, etc.).
Please review all of the requirements as you consider applying to Penn State.
- Online Admissions Application Information
- High School Transcript (if applicable)
- College Transcripts (if applicable)
- Certificate of Eligibility (COE) from the VA
- Joint Services Transcript (JST)
Military Transcripts
Penn State does not require military transcripts as part of the application evaluation, but if accepted, applicants may receive Penn State credit for work reflected on these transcripts. For this reason, we highly recommend that you submit your military transcript for credit evaluation. Review the documents that Penn State requires in order to award Credit for Military Experience.
Military Application Fee Waiver
Veterans, reservists and active-duty service members will receive an application fee-waiver when applying to any of Penn State’s undergraduate programs.
