Scranton welcomes new library and advising center staffers

Penn State Scranton recently welcomed two new staff members to the campus community — Meghan Cruciani, who is the new associate director of academic advising, and Cameron Nielsen, who will serve a one-year appointment as reference and instruction librarian.

Spring/fall 2020 Scranton students now have early-action option starting Aug. 1

Students looking to enroll at Penn State Scranton for spring/fall 2020 can do so starting Aug. 1 to be considered early-action applicants, giving them more time to begin and complete their applications. Those who complete the application by Nov. 1 will receive an admissions decision by Dec. 24 and get notice of their student aid package in mid-February, giving them more time to sort out their financial position.

Campus students and faculty volunteer at Scranton soup kitchen

Nineteen students in the 2019 PaSSS cohort traveled to St. Francis of Assisi Soup Kitchen in downtown Scranton, where they volunteered at its Client Choice Food Pantry and Free Clothing Store. They were joined by Michael Evans, assistant chief academic officer and associate teaching professor of nursing, and Maripat O’Donnell, part-time lecturer in sociology.
