Penn State Scranton dedicated its new Engineering Building on Oct. 6 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that featured Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi as a keynote speaker and approximately 100 guests, including University and community leaders, donors, faculty, staff and students.
Penn State Scranton’s science department is hosting a special welcome event on Tuesday, Oct. 4 that will include a scavenger hunt on the third floor of the Dawson Building.
Nationally recognized philanthropist, photojournalist and speaker Saul Flores will speak at Penn State Scranton on Sept. 23 to share the story of his journey walking 5,328 miles through 10 different countries, in order to document, said Flores, how grueling and dangerous the journey of immigrants to the United States can be.
From mid-September through the end of October, Penn State units at campuses across the commonwealth will be holding events in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month. The unifying theme for this year’s observances is “Nuestra Música (Our Music): Identity, Culture and Resistance."
With the fall semester now underway, Penn State Scranton is doing what it can to help reduce the stress and concerns of students by providing them with a variety of mental health and academic services aimed at helping them transition back to a safe and fun in-person campus experience.
Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Shannon Williams, a multimedia specialist in the campus' Information Technology department, has been named Penn State Scranton's "Employee of the Month" for September.
