Breakfast with the Nittany Lion to be held March 22

The Penn State Scranton Alumni Society will hold its annual Breakfast with the Nittany Lion on Sunday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to noon in the campus' View Cafe, inside the Study Learning Center. Tickets will be available at the door, or can be purchased by calling 570-963-2536.

HDFS program to host symposium on sex trafficking crisis

Marlene Carson, CEO of The Switch Anti-Trafficking Network, will serve as the keynote speaker at the Child and Human Sex Trafficking Symposium on Monday, March 30. The event is being presented by the campus' Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS) program. It is free and open to the public.

Honors program event focuses on international student perspectives

Recently, the campus honors program hosted a presentation featuring the unique cultural perspectives of four foreign-born students: Christian Toussaint, a junior originally from Haiti; Fagr Mahana, a sophomore from Egypt; Huynh (Quinn) Nguyen, a sophomore from Vietnam; and Nimrod Chapo, a freshman from Israel.

After the sudden announcement that classes would be delivered remotely, due to restrictions put in place by state officials in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the campus' tutoring and writing centers met the challenge head on, getting virtual tutoring and academic assistance in place for students in need of these services.

New campus e-newsletter keeps students informed during self-quarantine

Penn State Scranton students are now getting campus news delivered daily to their email inboxes thanks to a new campus publication, PSU Scranton Daily Updates. The e-newsletter was created by Student Services and Engagement staff as a way to give students an easy way to access pertinent news and announcements while keeping them connected to campus.
