Worthington Scranton celebrates diversity with special MLK Day event

Penn State Worthington Scranton celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.'s memory by hosting a special diversity event on campus, featuring diversity-themed presentations and special break-out sessions aimed at getting students, staff, faculty and community members engaged in helping to increase diversity efforts and foster greater understanding of different cultures.

Campus libraries bring all of Penn State's resources to local students

Kristen Greene, acting head librarian at Penn State Worthington Scranton, is on a mission to make all students aware of the resources available to them at the campus library. Students can access not only the materials housed in the campus library, but hundreds of databases with thousands of books, journals, and scholarly articles from across the University Library System.

Alan Peslak honored at international conferences for best paper

Alan Peslak's paper, "Sentiment Analysis and Opinion Mining: Current State of the Art and Review of Google and Yahoo Search Engines' Privacy Policies," was recently named Best Paper at the 2016 EDSIG and CONISAR conferences and is scheduled for future publication in the Journal of Information Systems Applied Research.

The K. Bruce Sherbine Lounge is new again

It's been part of the campus for decades and on Jan. 12, Penn State Worthington Scranton held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate the renovation of the K. Bruce Sherbine Lounge into a modern, functional space, and brought back its namesake — former director of academic affairs K. Bruce Sherbine — to participate in the ribbon-cutting.
