Alisa Carter, a technical services employee in Penn State Worthington Scranton's maintenance and operations department, has been named the January employee of the month by Chancellor Marwan Wafa.
Wayne Frutchey, a technical services employee in Penn State Worthington Scranton's maintenance and operations department, has been named the December employee of the month by Chancellor Marwan Wafa.
The Penn State Worthington Scranton Chorale and Jazz Band, along with the Roc[k]tets, will continue its annual tradition of performing holiday music for the campus and local community. Two concerts will take place: one at the Living Christmas Village at Grace Bible Church in Dunmore at 4 p.m. on Dec. 3, and another at the campus' The View Cafe at noon on Dec. 6.
Penn State Worthington Scranton will host a variety of events the week of Nov. 13 to commemorate veterans and military personnel, including a special recognition at the women's and men's basketball games on Nov. 14.
Penn State Worthington Scranton has announced that it will hold another series of Diversity Circles at the campus starting in February. The program offers campus and local community members the opportunity to gain a new understanding of others' perspectives and experiences that shape their own unique world views.
Penn State Worthington Scranton will host a lecture and discussion lead by Joseph Kraus, professor of English at The University of Scranton, at 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in the campus' Business Building, Hawk Lecture Hall. He will be reading from Marilynne Robinson’s American Version of "Gilead." This event is free and open to the public, as well as the campus community.
Penn State alumni representing four northeast regional campuses — Hazleton, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre and Worthington Scranton — will be offering “A Night of Penn State Jazz” on Oct. 26 at the F.M. Kirby Center in Wilkes-Barre. The concert, featuring Penn State’s Centre Dimensions jazz ensemble, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
