Penn State Altoona's Rail Transportation program is hosting the Women in Engineering Design Competition, open to first-year and sophomore women at any Penn State campus. There are three rounds to the competition. The first is an online quiz which includes questions about all aspects of engineering and its impact on society, economics, and politics. Dale Holen, associate professor of biology and biology program coordinator at Penn State Scranton, has been named the 2019 chair-elect of the Northeast Algal Society’s Nominations Committee.
