DUNMORE, Pa. — Julie Gilpatrick, coordinator of student activities at Penn State Scranton, has been named the February Employee of the Month by Chancellor Marwan Wafa.
Always willing to help students with their activities and events, in particular the campus' annual THON fundraising and participation efforts, Gilpatrick is known for her friendliness and helpfulness to students and staff alike.
“This year the campus earned the privilege of having three dancers for THON and are also going to host a THON Family. This is a huge accomplishment for our campus. Julie Gilpatrick has been a very enthusiastic supporter of THON and provides whatever support the students need to participate in the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world," wrote campus director of finance Kim Bogdan in nominating Gilpatrick for the honor.
"She also has attended THON for the past few years to support our students," said Bogdan. "She has been instrumental in getting evening programming up and running at the campus. She is always willing to help out and has a very upbeat attitude. She is doing her part to make this a welcoming campus.”
The Employee of the Month is a recognition award created by Marwan Wafa, Penn State Scranton chancellor, to distinguish staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving the campus.
Congratulations Julie!
