THON at Penn State Scranton

THON™ is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer.

Students involved in THON provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness, and ensure funding for critical research—all in pursuit of a cure.

The yearlong efforts of the more than 16,500 Penn State student volunteers culminate in a 46-hour dance marathon each Spring.

Student volunteers dedicate an average of 15 hours per week to THON related events and activities throughout the year. There are a multitude of ways Penn State Scranton students to get involved from helping with fundraising to dancing at THON.

As the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, THON raises millions of dollars each year for Four Diamonds, funding pediatric cancer research and supporting children and families fighting childhood cancer. Since 1977, THON has raised more than $200 million for Four Diamonds.
