Penn State Scranton IST alumnus Parkston Myers gives his presentation on his original video game, Clay World, during the annual regional Business Plan Competition hosted by tecBridge, an organization that helps build entrepreneurship, innovation and the knowledge economy in northeast Pennsylvania. Myers also presented his business idea to other regional organizations including Penn State Scranton's Advisory Board, Lackawanna County's TechCelerator Program and in this year's Big Idea Competition.

Penn State Wilkes-Barre, Penn State Hazleton and Penn State Scranton came together for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders’ STEM School Days at PNC Field. The events were held on May 11 and May 24, allowing hundreds of elementary, middle and high school students to attend from a variety of school districts throughout northeastern Pennsylvania.
While still a student at Penn State Scranton, Parkston Myers, a May 2023 information sciences and technology graduate, turned a creative idea that stemmed from his passion for video games, which developed at a young age, into a $10,000 business plan.
This week more than 200 IT professionals from across the University will be at Penn State Scranton for the annual Penn State Tech Pros/Web Pros Conference, along with more than 20 national vendors, including Dell, Lenovo and Epson.
Two students test out the new solstice pods in the Gallagher Conference Center's classroom 112, which was recently upgraded to include new interactive technologies and amenities that allow students and faculty to participate in interactive learning experiences.
