From mid-September through the end of October, Penn State units at campuses across the commonwealth will be holding events in honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. This year's overall theme is "Nuestra Comunidad Latina: Celebrating a Thriving Community."
The lawn at Penn State's Old Main was adorned with 2,977 American flags during an event hosted by the College Republicans on the evening of Sept. 9. The flags will remain on the lawn through the weekend to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Each flag on the lawn represents one victim of the attacks.
