Over 100 students showcased their research at Penn State Scranton’s 2025 Undergraduate Research Fair and Exhibition, held at the campus earlier this month. Students from a variety of academic disciplines participated in poster exhibits, panel discussions and presentations and artistic projects, with select faculty and staff judging the submissions and naming the winning projects.
More than 19 first-generation students and 10 first-generation graduates were inducted into the Lambda Omicron Chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha) Honor Society at Penn State Scranton.

The project, “Corporate Communication x Nursing: ‘Pile the Pantry’ Baby Drive,” will benefit the local community.

Melissa LaBuda, assistant professor of human development and family studies at Penn State Scranton, recently completed an Experiential Digital Global Engagement project with students from her course, HDFS 301: Values and Ethics in the Helping Professions and partners from Helwan University, Egypt. Her students then proceeded to participate in the Harnessing Innovation through Virtual Exchange for Enhanced Results (HIVER) program.
