The Learning and Writing Center is an integral part of the campus community, collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to provide FREE services in a student-centered environment, designed to meet individual student needs.

If you’re looking for a chance to maintain or improve your grades, get answers to questions you have about difficult course concepts or course assignments, review for an exam or prepare for a paper or presentation, the Learning and Writing Center can help. You are also welcome to use the space to study or use the computers in our Center.

The Learning Center offers Tutoring, Writing Assistance and Study Skills Help and Multilingual Support.

We offer online and real-time options for general subject tutoring and writing assistance.

  • Individual and small group tutoring
  • Faculty, professional and peer tutoring
  • Drop-in and scheduled appointments

To schedule to meet with a tutor:

Log in to Starfish and then navigate to your “Courses” section. Beside the course for which you are seeking tutoring, select the tutoring service icon to view availability and make an appointment.

Taking a course and need writing assistance?

Would you like to take your study skills up a level? A professional Academic Coach can help students develop skills in time management, note taking, test taking, and more!

We offer a variety of services to help multilingual students, including one-on-one consultations and a conversation partners program. To sign up for these services, stop by the Hawk Student Success Center in the lower level of the SLC, or complete this online request for multilingual support.
 

Student Referral to The Learning Center

We greatly appreciate the support from faculty and staff! Students often take advantage of services based on recommendations from the campus community. Once you have submitted the online form, a member of our staff will follow up with the student to offer assistance.

Class Visits from The Learning Center

The Learning Center staff can visit your class or student group to lead an academic workshop, explain our services, or assist with a peer review day.
