DUNMORE, Pa. — Mary Runco, administrative staff assistant in academic affairs, has been named Penn State Worthington Scranton's April Employee of the Month by Chancellor Marwan Wafa.
"Mary Runco works tirelessly for the Nursing Department and nursing students," said Chief Academic Officer H. Durell Johnson. "Her positive and honest outlook on any situation creates a positive work environment, and her most impressionable trait is her great sense of humor."
"Mary always goes above and beyond to assist faculty and students," he added. "This effort is evident in her consistent support of the Nursing Program, its faculty, and our students. Mary always shows her Penn State pride, and it is a pleasure working with her."
"Mary Runco is the mother for our nursing students," said Director of Enrollment Management Sandy Feather. "She is not only passionate about the outcome of the nursing students' education, she also makes sure there are not any glitches in the operation of the nursing program."
"In addition to being a mother of one of our PSWS nursing alumni, she is also the recipient of the Penn State University Staff Excellence Award. Mary is well-deserving to be the April Employee of the Month."
The Employee of the Month recognition was created by Chancellor Wafa as a way of distinguishing campus staff who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Worthington Scranton.
Congratulations Mary!
