For its second alternative spring break volunteer service trip, Penn State Scranton students and staff traveled to a hurricane damaged area to help families whose homes and lives were devastated by Hurricane Florence last September.

Campus alumna Suzanne "Nittany Sue" Thomas cuts the ribbon for the campus' new IST Active Learning and Innovation Lab on Thursday. Thomas, a longtime supporter of the campus, contributed $100,000 to the new lab, which will provide state-of-the-art technology to students in the Information Sciences and Technology program, as well as a modern, active learning classroom with a corporate-like learning environment.
