Arts Around the World

Young artists will explore art from cultures around the world. Create masks, paintings and murals while learning about traditions and beliefs from far away lands.

Babysitter's Training

Discover the rewarding world of childcare and learn what to do when you are in charge! Learn about child safety, how to "play it safe" and the basics of caring for children while developing your leadership skills.

Find out how to prevent and recognize emergency situations, as well as how to provide basic first aid and CPR for infants and children until an emergency medical team arrives.

Each participant will receive:

American Red Cross Infant/Child CPR card
American Red Cross First Aid Skills card
1 American Red Cross Babysitter's handbook
1 American Red Cross CPR Training kit
1 American Red Cross Bandage Training packet
1 American Red Cross Babysitter Training certificate

Participants Must Attend Both Sessions to Receive All Certifications

Building Bridges with K'NEX®

Campers will have the opportunity to build seven different replicas of real world bridges. Construct amazing structures such as the Golden Gate Bridge, the Sydney Bridge and the London Bridge. Our K'NEX® engineers will design, build and name a bridge of their own! Come prepared to test these bridges with your own toy cars!

Business and Entrepreneurship Academy

Join us as we dive into the exciting world of business and uncover its many twists and turns. This academy is sure to pique the interests of any student who has aspirations to work in or start their own business!

Students will explore finance basics (including personal finances), how companies get consumers to buy their products, and discover how planning and income vs. expenses all make the world go round.

The students will also work with a business simulator and explore careers in business.

Coding Camp (formally Creating Digital Animations)

Create computer animations, add sound and simple motion, plus much more using Flash and Image Ready programs. Experience this AWESOME camp!
Prerequisite: basic computer skills.

Creative Lego® Engineering

Our youngest Nittany campers learn basic engineering concepts by playing with Legos®

They will build simple models such as seesaws, rolling vehicles, hand-operated lifts and merry-go-rounds. Pulleys, levers, gears, wheels, axles are all part of the fun!

Computer Gaming Academy

Interested in digital animation? Learn what goes on behind the scenes of animation! Create an animated story using Scratch software! Expand your knowledge and learn the fundamentals of computer gaming.

Cub 'Caching Camp

Geocaching camp is a real world, outdoor, treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location. Learn how the GPS works and how to find, as well as hide, geocaches. Also, includes history, latitude/longitude, leave no trace, teamwork, and plenty of hands on experience!  Expect to be physically active every day!

This two-week camp invites English Language Learners to participate in a unique and exciting program. They will improve their reading, writing, listening and speaking skills, while having fun! Story-based approach, hands-on activities and musical creativity will be implemented.

NEW! Health Care Academy

Learn Baby Basics, Home Safety, Stop the Bleeding and how to be aware of those with special needs. This is a hands-on learning approach using our Hi-Fidelity Simulators which can be programmed to simulate patients during various situations. The program will take place in our nursing lab and taught by the Penn State Registered Nurses.

This course is developed as an introduction to Red Cross Babysitter's Training.

Lego®  Mindstorms® NXT, offering state-of-the-art technology, is waiting for you! Build robots, write fundamental computer programs to set your robots in motion, and watch them communicate using Bluetooth technology. Join us for this hands-on robotics experience!

Junior Robotics Lab

Our youngest robot lovers will be introduced to the parts of a robot, how a robot moves and its involvement in today's world. Each camper will receive an assembled robot at the beginning of the week and discover, learn and play games and compete in robot competitions!  Robots are yours to keep at the end of camp.

NEW! Motorsports Forensics Camp - Field Trip to Pocono Raceway. Where is the race car?

Participants will learn about aerodynamics, engineering, chemistry in a pretend crime scene scenario with STEM. Using hands-on CSI forensic techniques to track down a missing race car. Campers will learn about the engineering behind motors, what's in a paint chip and why automobiles look like they do. Campers will follow the clues as they head to Pocono International Raceway to solve the mystery - Where is the missing race car?

Camp features a one-day field trip to Pocono Raceway in Long Pond from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.  Bus transportation will be provided from the campus to Pocono Raceway and return to campus. Campers will need to bring snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses and hat. Water provided.

Rocketry Camp

Campers will explore the ins and outs of model rocketry, building and launching model rockets. Build your own rockets and understand why they fly. Become a Nittany rocketeer!

NEW! Science of Superheroes Camp

Ready to see what it takes to be super? In this STEM-based, action-packed camp, campers will explore the science behind some of their favorite superheroes and villains. Where does super strength come from? How does science make things fly or appear invisible?

Through hands-on activities in chemistry, engineering, and technology, campers will face challenges and triumphs and learn to recognize the real-life heroes of our natural world.

Campers -  feel free to come as your favorite superhero on the first day of camp.

Space Camp

Learn what it is like to be a NASA scientist or engineer! For five days, students will explore the engineering design process, robots and rovers, satellites, spacesuits, traveling in space and more!  You will have fun experimenting with space, science topics and be able to participate in a Design Challenge Competition.

NEW! Wizard's Academy

Using the magic of Science participants are introduced to chemistry, physics, art, literature, and film through the imaginary world created by J.K.Rowling's Harry Potter novels. The Wizards Academy is the next step up from Wizards and Cauldrons Camp and will combine real world career exploration and FUN, FUN, FUN. Camp instructor is our famous Wizards and Cauldrons Instructor.

Take the next step in your testing at Hogwarts. "You've passed your O.W.L.s, time to move on to your N.E.W.T.s and find your magical career! Will you 'exceed expectations' at Wizard's Academy?"
