DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State Worthington Scranton and Penn State's College of Nursing recently hosted a panel discussion on "The Opioid Crisis in Pennsylvania," which was attended by 80 individuals from the campus, University and local communities.
Dr. Rachel Levine, the Pennsylvania physician general, was the guest speaker. Her presentation was followed by a panel discussion that included several community stakeholders, including Lackawanna County District Attorney Shane Scanlon, who has been an active voice locally in the fight against opioid addiction, and Scranton Police Chief Carl Graziano.
Penn State Worthington Scranton's nursing faculty organized the event at the campus.
