DUNMORE, Pa. — Rob Notari, interim IT director for Penn State Scranton, Hazleton and Wilkes-Barre, has been named the recipient of the CIO/Senior Leadership Team Award, recognizing his exceptional leadership and strategic vision in unifying IT operations across the northeastern region.
Notari, a 1999 graduate of Wilkes University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science, previously served as a systems administrator at Penn State Scranton. In that role, he focused on maintaining the campus’ technical infrastructure, security and system updates. Since stepping into his interim leadership position, he has led a significant transformation of IT services across the three campuses.
His nominator wrote that Notari “stepped up as IT leader for the Scranton, Wilkes-Barre and Hazleton campuses, transforming the operations at three distinct locations into one cohesive region. He identified new talent and brought them on board as regional employees, and cross-trained existing employees, creating common and unified approaches to their processes and operating model.”
The CIO/Senior Leadership Team Award recognizes an individual selected by Vice President for IT/Chief Information Officer David Horton and the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
Notari said he was honored to receive this award from Penn State IT and grateful to be part of the Penn State IT community. “It means a lot to be recognized by a group of people I really respect and enjoy working with. Being part of Penn State IT has been an incredible experience — full of challenges, learning and a whole lot of collaboration.”
The Penn State IT Awards program is meant to acknowledge full-time Penn State IT staff for their dedication to service.
