The Penn State Scranton Student Nurses Association (SNA) delivered care packages and handwritten messages to the residents at Carbondale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center prior to the Easter holiday. SNA students making the delivery included Hannah Tolerico and Stacey Pusti. The club organized and collected activity and crafting items, hygiene products, and word puzzle books, along with uplifting handwritten messages by Penn State Scranton nursing students.
During the fall semester, the nursing majors held a walk-up flu vaccine clinic for their fellow campus students, and participated in several community events, among them Regional Hospital of Scranton’s Flu Kickoff Campaign. Penn State Scranton alumna Allyson Favuzza, left, and graduating nursing student Kellen Kraky are the co-owners of Covington Twp.-based primary care practice Hometown Health Care of NEPA. Recently, the two have been coordinating a series of COVID-19 mass vaccination clinics, all of which have included student and faculty volunteers from the campus nursing program.
