October 24, 2016 was proclaimed Dr. Marwan Wafa Day in Lackawanna County by the county commissioners for his work in promoting diversity and acceptance in our community. The announcement was made by former Scranton Mayor Jim Connors at the United Nations Day luncheon, hosted by the United Nations Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
