Over the past eight years, Penn State Scranton has offered a variety of "badge" programs each semester through its information technology department that allow faculty and staff to enhance their professional and technical skills, as well as classroom learning development, benefiting faculty taking the programs and the students they teach, as well as the campus' administrative office operations.

The musicians of Las Cafeteras — Jose Cano, Denise Carlos, David Flores, Hector Flores, Daniel French, and Leah Gallegos — fashion a patchwork quilt of “urgent, relevant music” with infectious live performances. Las Cafeteras will present a performance at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10, in Eisenhower Auditorium at University Park.

The lawn at Penn State's Old Main was adorned with 2,977 American flags during an event hosted by the College Republicans on the evening of Sept. 9. The flags will remain on the lawn through the weekend to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on the United States. Each flag on the lawn represents one victim of the attacks.

Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Kristin Green has been promoted to associate librarian at the campus, while Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of Biology Megan Van Etten has attained tenure.
