The Penn State Scranton community has learned which students will be representing the campus as its THON 2024 dancers during THON Weekend, set for Feb. 16-18 at University Park’s Bryce Jordan Center. Abigal Gaebel, Mahek Gandhi and Ashley Torres will join thousands of other Penn State students in the grueling, yet life-changing, 46-hour, no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon that raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund and children battling pediatric cancer.
A new tool is being offered at Penn State Scranton to help students gain important financial literacy skills. Available in the Admissions office (Dawson 5) are several financial wellness resources provided by the Penn State Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center. Students can take, read and return or keep different books about making smart money choices.
Students at Penn State Scranton now have a new resource to help them gain important financial literacy skills thanks to Penn State’s Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center. A financial resources information kiosk has been set up in the admissions office in Dawson 5 and is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Asif ud-Doula, associate professor of physics at Penn State Scranton, will deliver the annual Mylar Giri lecture at Penn State Hazleton at 12:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, in Room 001 of the Kostos Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Penn State Scranton's Human Development and Family Studies faculty welcomed its first officers and members into the campus' Kappa Omicron Nu honor society, during a special induction ceremony held on campus last semester. Using the patient simulator lab at Penn State Scranton during an interprofessional education event, professional nurses from Geisinger Community Medical Center worked through a variety of real-world emergency medical situations to help Penn State Scranton nursing students gain valuable real-world experience.
