Penn State Scranton recently hosted its much-anticipated Honors and Awards Dinner, an annual celebration dedicated to recognizing the outstanding achievements of students, faculty and staff members.
Continuing an annual tradition, Penn State Scranton honored students, faculty and staff for their commitment to campus life at the year-end Student Recognition Dinner on April 17, in the View Café. Over 100 people attended the dinner, which recognized students who have distinguished themselves through their campus involvement, academic rigor and community service.
Penn State Scranton's Assistant Teaching Professor of English Kara Stone has been honored with the George W. Atherton Award for Excellence in Teaching for her outstanding contributions to teaching and student support. The award recognizes her dedication to creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment while empowering students to achieve their personal best.
Penn State Scranton recently hosted its annual Lambda Pi Eta honor society ceremony recognizing high-achieving students in the corporate communication program.
Thanks to a $1,700 grant from the Scranton Area Foundation, Penn State Scranton will be able to continue, and expand upon, a successful specialized training program for area kindergarten, elementary and high school teachers, staff and administrators aimed at helping them better serve students with special needs.
