Four Penn State Scranton students have been selected to participate as dancers in THON 2025, taking place Feb. 21 through Feb. 23 at the Bryce Jordan Center. John Evans, Paige Geisler, Matthew Reyes and Gavan Quimby were announced as the campus' THON dancers at a Silent Disco event hosted by the campus Student Government Association.
American culinary historian, lawyer and public policy adviser Adrian Miller will offer an engaging and educational journey through the lives of African Americans who have served as cooks for U.S. presidents, "Black Chefs in the White House," at 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, via Zoom and also in-person at the Paul Robeson Cultural Center Library in the HUB. Students from Penn State Scranton’s English department attended the University of Scranton’s Distinguished Author Award Dinner, where they gained valuable insights into the writing journey of Brandy Shillace, honored for her works The Framed Women of Ardemore House and Dr. Butcher and Mr. Humble. Organized by Associate Teaching Professor Kara Stone, the event provided students with an enriching experience beyond the classroom, including a private lunch with the author to discuss her works and writing process.

An approaching winter ice storm has caused Penn State Scranton to cancel classes, activities and work beginning at 5:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 6 to 5 AM Friday, Feb. 7. Offices, facilities and the bookstore will be closed.
