Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa proudly shows off the SAGE Award the campus received on Friday from the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce for Interior Renovations. The award was given for the campus's recent complete renovation of the first floor of the Dawson Building.

This spring, the Sherbine Lounge served as the exhibit space for the Undergraduate Research Fair and Exhibition's Art and Creative Exhibit, which showcased student artwork, sculpture and photography. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the space will again serve as an exhibition space when the Corporate Communication Club hosts its first-ever student art show from 4 to 6 p.m.

Ken Hickman, delivers engaging and informative lecture

On Thursday, Nov. 14, Ken Hickman, director of the Penn State All-Sports Museum, came to Penn State Scranton to deliver two engaging and informative lectures on the Penn State All-Sports Museum’s World War I-themed exhibit, “Field to Front: Nittany Lions at War, 1917-1919,” which is on display in the campus library through Dec. 13. 

Corianne Thompson Ceramics

Corianne, Thompson, lecturer in art, creates ceramic vessels and bowls that resemble the alien-like sea creatures she found in her dad’s marine biology books. They include echinoderms, a category of sea creature that includes sea urchins, starfish and sand dollars. Thompson’s small, delicate creations, many of which are adorned with spikes, allow her to explore emotional themes like vulnerability, relationships and self-protection.
