Corporate Communication Degree

What is corporate communication?

Are you a good communicator? Do you also have a mind for marketing or business or public relations but have a creative edge to you?  Do you enjoy the challenge of communicating on a strategic level?

Words are very powerful, especially in a world of social media. Communicating the right words at the right time is a valuable skill. Effective communication can build trust, improve morale, increase productivity and create organization. One misstep can be a headline in the news within seconds. Images can be tarnished, reputations destroyed, and trust lost. A positive image and a trusted identity are keys to being well positioned.

If you enjoy communicating and interacting with people and welcome the opportunity to affect the world of business on a strategic level with polished communication skills, then a Corporate Communication Degree is your path.

Corporate communication is strategic communication. Professionals in corporate communication shape how an organization communicates with its own members and outsiders, thus helping to achieve larger business goals. An organization's internal and external communications are all coordinated by factors such as:

  • Branding
  • Corporate identity
  • Corporate reputation
  • New media strategy
  • Stakeholder interests
  • Social responsibility

My internships were the best experiences. I was able to complete two different internships. For one, I did marketing for the Scranton Chamber of Commerce, and for the second one I did social media for Student Engagement at Penn State Scranton.
