Athletic Logo Stencils, ME 340 Mechanical Engineering Design Methodology Project

Students in Penn State Scranton’s ME 340 Mechanical Engineering Design Methodology class designed and produced stencils for the Athletic Department to use in order to paint logos on the baseball field prior to each game.  Here, one of the stencils is being produced by a plasma cutter at Zoom-Pony Fabrication of Lakeville, PA.

Others participating in the stencil design project include Mechanical Engineering students Kris Boswell, James Labelle, Ethan Marti, Eric Rine, Antonio Pugliese, Garrett Walsh, and Michael Waltman, as well as Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering, Gary Bau.

In addition to the plasma cutting technology pictured here, the students also produced stencils using equipment in Penn State Scranton’s state-of-the-art 3D printing lab in the new Engineering Building.
