DUNMORE, Pa. — Campus administrators at Penn State Scranton recently completed a Clery Act tabletop training exercise designed to help prepare them to respond in the event of a campus emergency.
Relevant stakeholders from Penn State Scranton’s core service areas were gathered together, given a crisis scenario, and then participated in a detailed discussion on the best ways to respond to that scenario.
The federally mandated and University required exercise was designed to mirror emergency situations that could arise on campus, so that in the event of an actual situation, key decision makers would have already examined and discussed their operating decisions and would be able to react immediately and efficiently, as well as have a plan to provide important safety and security information to students, faculty, staff and the community.
The exercise is an important part of the University’s Clery Act compliance efforts, which also include the distribution of annual security and safety reports.
