Mary McNichols, Scranton, has been named the Penn State Worthington Scranton Alumni Society's 2015 Alumna of the Year. A reception will be held in her honor on Wednesday, January 27.
McNichols earned both her bachelor of science degree in business - management/marketing and associate in arts degree in liberal arts/business at Penn State Worthington Scranton. She is a member of the Penn State Worthington Scranton Advisory Board and serves as a member of the campus Development Committee.
McNichols is Senior Vice President/Human Resources Director at Fidelity Deposit and Discount Bank, with more than 30 years overseeing the Trust Department and over 12 years in human resources management.
She is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor through the Institute of Certified Bankers; a Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Certified Professional; and a Professional in Human Resources via the Human Resource Certification Institute.
She is also affiliated with numerous professional and community organizations. Currently a board member of the PA Banker's Association, Harrisburg, McNichols previously was past chairperson, overseeing its Wealth Management and Trust Conference, a School of Trust Advisory Board member and a Women in Banking Initiative leader.
Additionally, McNichols is a member of the Estate Planning Council of NEPA, and National and Northeast PA SHRM. She is on the Scranton Council PTA serving as vice-president of the South Scranton schools; club leader of the Creamton Area Ag 4-H Club; and a member of the St. John Neumann Parish Council.
She and her husband, Tim, are the parents of three children, Ryan, Matthew and Sara, and have one granddaughter, Riley.
