Julie Gilpatrick in student services is the March Employee of the Month

Julie Gilpatrick is a friendly and familiar face in the campus' Study Learning Center, where she is the administrative support assistant for the office of Student Programs and Services.  Students know her by name and frequently stop by her office for answers to questions or help with any number of projects they are involved with or issues they are facing.

It is her dedication and commitment to Penn State Worthington Scranton students for which Gilpatrick was named the PSWS March 2016 Employee of the Month.

Sandra Feather, director of enrollment management, nominated Gilpatrick for the honor, specifically highlighting her involvement with international students at Worthington Scranton.

"Julie Gilpatrick has gone above and beyond her standard job responsibilities by opening up her home to our international students for Thanksgiving dinner. Her passion for our students is clearly shown in her everyday interactions."

Gilpatrick has been with the University for over five years and in addition to her interaction with, and assistance to students, she also provides office support to, and assists, the associate director of student unions and programs, the campus' Student Government Association and THON, and is a member of the newly formed PSWS Staff Advisory Council.

The Employee of the Month is a recognition award created by Dr. Marwan Wafa, PSWS chancellor, to distinguish staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Worthington Scranton. Nominations are made by the chancellor's Cabinet members.

Congratulations Julie!
