Dr. Durell Johnson Appointed to University Post

Dr. Durell Johnson, Assistant Director of Academic Affairs and an associate professor of Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State Worthington Scranton, was recently named Discipline Coordinator for the Division of Health and Human Development in the University College for 2008-09.

As discipline coordinator, Dr. Johnson will be a contact for faculty members in the University College's division of Health and Human Development. He will also oversee the development of courses and degree programs developed by the college faculty, in consultation with program heads and the Associate Dean for Academic Programs.

In his new capacity, he also serves as a disciplinary consultant for annual performance reviews of tenure system and non-tenure system faculty and works with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research in coordinating faculty sixth-year promotion and tenure, promotion-only, and tenure-only reviews.

Dr. Johnson has been with Penn State Worthington Scranton for eight years.  He received his bachelor's degree in Psychology from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX, a master's degree in Experimental Child Psychology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and his doctoral degree in Developmental Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
