Members of Penn State Worthington Scranton's Community Human Service Organization (CHSO) recently volunteered at the Friends of the Poor's Thanksgiving food drive at the Scranton Cultural Center.
Two dozen Penn State students and their professor, Dr. Matthew Mutchler, assistant professor of Human Development and Family Services, worked from 8 a.m. until noon, bagging and distributing food for needy local families.
Over 2,000 families were served by the effort.
Penn State Worthington Scranton's CHSO fosters student involvement and professionalism in the local community through campus and community service projects, as well as through hosting and arranging guest speakers for the Worthington Scranton campus community and group field trips.
