Worthington Scranton Employees Recognized For Service

Dr. Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, chancellor, recognized staff and faculty members for their years of service during a special welcome back luncheon held at the campus on Jan. 7. 

 

The annual event is held each year prior to the start of classes to officially kick-off the start of the spring semester and recognize those who are celebrating landmark employment anniversaries.

 

Honored for 40 years of service were Dr. Gail Keating and Paul Perrone, senior instructors in English; and Dr. Marlene Souslby, associate professor of German and Comparative Literature.  They were only the second, third and fourth individuals in the campus' history to receive the honor, Dr. Krogh-Jespersen said.

 

Dr. Mark Banaczek, instructor in computer science; Dr. John Dolis, professor of English; and Bob Nelson, group leader in the campus' maintenance department, were honored for 25 years of service.

 

Awarded for 20 years of service, were Marilee Mulvey, director of information technology; and Lynne Fazio, staff assistant/word processing.

 

John Kapacs, Jr., patrol officer, Shirley Romanovitch, business office staff assistant; Mary Runco, staff assistant in the campus' nursing department; and Angela Schuback, external relations assistant for the campus' University Relations division, were recognized for their 15 years of service.

 

Kim Bogdan, director of finance; Emanual Carfi, maintenance worker; Gary Edstrom, undergraduate student adviser and women's cross-country coach; Gina Gray, instructor of kinesiology; Dr. Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, chancellor; and Dr. Janet Melnick, senior instructor in human development and family studies, were recognized for 10 years of service.

 

Receiving recognition for five years of service at Worthington Scranton were: Scott Allen, engineering instructor; Bill Bryan, director of student and enrollment services; Mari Donnelly, admissions staff assistant; Sandy Feather, associate director of enrollment management; Sue Fitch, continuing education area representative; Dr. Yvonne Glanville, assistant professor of physics; Jim Hawley, janitorial worker; Ann O'Hara, cafeteria worker; Tom Powell, janitorial worker; and Dr. Eva Tettenborn, assistant professor of English.
