New faculty hires announced at campus

Dr. Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, chancellor at Penn State Worthington Scranton, is pleased to announce the recent hiring of the following faculty members at the campus:

 

Annette Blasi-Strubeck, RN, MSN, CCRN, joins the PSWS faculty as an Instructor of Nursing. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing and two master's degrees in Health Service Administration and Nursing Administration from Marywood University. She is a licensed registered nurse for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

 

She has over 25 years experience as an intensive care unit nurse and while working in the Intensive Care Unit at Moses Taylor Hospital, she participated in the development and implementation of the hospital's Rapid Response Team (RRT).

Ms. Blasi-Strubeck is also an ACLS instructor and has been a clinical instructor at PSWS since 2009 and is a member of the American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau - International Honor Society of Nursing and Alpha Epsilon Lambda Honor Society.

Carol Reed has been hired as an instructor of mathematics. She received her bachelor's degree in Mathematics/Secondary Education Certification from Albright College and her master's in mathematics from Lehigh University. She has experience teaching algebra and calculus at Lehigh Carbon Community College and previously was the assistant varsity field hockey coach for the Eastern Lancaster County School District.

Ms. Reed has published Writing to Enhance Mathematical Understanding in the 2005-2006 Pennsylvania Council of Teachers of Mathematics Yearbook and has attended several mathematics workshops and presented at five mathematics annual conferences. She holds several professional and academic memberships.
