Dr. Eva Tettenborn, Associate Professor of English, will present a paper at Bucknell University on November 10, 2012 during the university's Griot Institute for Africana Studies conference, "Post-Racial America? An Interdisciplinary Conversation."
Her presentation, "Frederick Douglass on a Post-Racial US: Drawing the Color Line," examines the theme of racial identity in selected speeches Douglass gave after the Civil War.
Dr. Tettenborn has been a faculty member at Penn State Worthington Scranton since 2005. In 2009 she received the campus' Dr. Richard A. and Sally Matthews Award for Scholarly Activity, and was named a 2012 National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Scholar and participated in the 2012 NEH Summer Institute "Contemporary African American Literature."
