Penn State Worthington Scranton employees honored for service

Penn State Worthington Scranton recently honored employees for landmark years of service during the campus' annual Staff Service Awards and Welcome Back luncheon on Jan. 4.

 

All campus staff and employees were invited to the event and those employees celebrating milestone anniversaries were honored for their years of service to the Worthington Scranton community. Dr. Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, chancellor, presented the awards.

 

Honorees were:

 

30 Years of Service:  Dr. David Byman, assistant professor of biology.

 

25  Years of Service:  Dr. Majid Chatsaz, assistant professor of engineering, who, as per university tradition, also received a Penn State rocking chair.

 

20 Years of Service:  Suzanne Harper, senior instructor in English; Dr. Patricia Hinchey, professor of education; Marvin McCloe, maintenance and operations; Wayne Reesey, maintenance and operations; and Verna Saleski, nursing program coordinator and senior instructor of nursing.

 

10 Years of Service:  Dr. Parminder Parmar, associate professor of Human Development and Family Studies.

 

Five Years of Service:  Mary Beth Benedict, financial aid coordinator; Andy Yakubik, University Safety; Dr. Milton Evans, instructor in nursing; James Hart, instructor in curriculum and instruction; Dr. Kelley Wagers, assistant professor of English; Taoye Zhang, assistant professor of mathematics; and Amy Gruzesky, coordinator of communications and community relations.
