On April 17, Penn State Worthington Scranton will host the Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., featuring a keynote presentation on "Global Climate Change: Crown Joules: The Big (and Surprisingly Optimistic) Picture on Energy and Environment" by Dr. Richard Alley, Penn State Evan Pugh Professor of Geosciences and a member of the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel that shared teh Nobel Prize with former vice president Al Gore.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Dr. Alley will be giving his presentation via a video link directly from Washington, DC. in Dawson 14 at 1 p.m.
Penn State's Eastern Regional Campuses' annual Regional Undergraduate Research Symposium communicates and celebrates the participation of undergraduate students from the eastern regional Penn State campuses in their scholarly research endeavors. Undergraduate students who have been selected to represent their local campus will present posters or other exhibits to showcase their work to a general audience. The symposium is open to the public.
Posters or other exhibits may be entered in the arts and humanities (including behavioral sciences - business studies and economics) and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
