Campus holds 46th Commencement Ceremony graduating 180 students

Penn State Worthington Scranton held its 46th Commencement on Friday, May 9 during a ceremony in the campus' Multi-Purpose Building. 

Penn State Worthington Scranton Chancellor Mary-Beth Krogh-Jespersen, Ph.D. presided, and Robert F. Beard, Penn State Worthington Scranton and University alumnus, and president and CEO of UGI Utilities, delivered the commencement address. 

Mr. Beard was introduced by PSWS Advisory Board Vice Chair Dr. Darlene Dunay. Kathy Casarin, campus alumni society president, offered the alumni charge to the new group of Penn State Worthington Scranton alumni.

Michael M. Evans, the campus' assistant chief academic officer and an instructor in nursing, served as faculty marshal for the ceremony.

"On behalf of our entire campus community, I would like to say it is a privilege for our campus faculty, staff, and our advisory board to join with all of you here tonight to honor those who have met the graduation standards of the Pennsylvania State University," said Dr. Krogh-Jespersen. 

"Each and every graduate made intelligent use of the opportunities provided by our campus and University to learn and achieve?and it is our sincere hope that we have lived up to your many and varied expectations for a college education and helped prepare you for the next part of your journey and to fulfill your dreams."

The current group of Penn State Worthington Scranton graduates joins over more than 15,000 baccalaureate and associate degree graduates from Penn State Worthington Scranton and over 750,000 from Penn State University.

Penn State Worthington Scranton granted baccalaureate degrees in American Studies; Business; Criminal Justice; English; Human Development and Family Studies; Information Sciences and Technology; Law and Society; Letters, Arts and Sciences; Nursing; Psychology; and Science.

Associate degrees were awarded in: Business Administration; Information Sciences and Technology; Letters, Arts and Sciences; and Nursing.
