Summer Bridge Program being offered for first-year students

Penn State Worthington Scranton is offering a new program for first-year students to provide incoming freshmen with tools and resources to jump start their first year on campus. The program specifically targets students who place into English 004 and/or Math 003 or Math 004.

The Summer Bridge Program is a two week session that will run Monday through Friday the weeks of July 27 and August 3. Students will work with instructors and peer tutors for individualized help to prepare them for the first semester of classes.

In addition to structured instruction from faculty, additional tutorial assistance will be offered by faculty and peer tutors in the Penn State Success Center.  Students will also receive success skills help through a series of sessions on career and academic topics including motivation, study strategies for success and career planning.

The goals of this program are to provide students with skills for success in writing, math and integration into life at Penn State.  You will work with instructors and peer tutors for individualized help to prepare you for your first day of classes.
