Nursing 200W students present their research

 

Students taking Nursing 200W - Nursing Research this summer presented their research findings from literature reviews on posters in the Study Learning Center.

Students and the projects they presented were: Alexa Barsigian, Improving Infection Control in Healthcare Facilities with PPE Protocol Adherence; Matthew John Butler RN, Fluid Administration Pertaining to the Emergent Trauma Patient; Gabriella Cristiano RN, Effects of Pain Management Techniques on Cancer Patients; Julie Hankins RN, Effects of Outpatient Hospice on Patient Quality of Life; Ashley Kocher, Chlorhexidine Products and VAP Rates; Desiree Luyster, Cardiac Rehabilitation: An Under-Valued Life-Saving Measure; Krista Marinock, Massage and Its Benefits on the Amount of Sleep Elderly Patients Receive; Samantha Pisano, Effects of a School-Based Activity Program on Childhood Obesity Rates; and Joelle Ryan, Mandatory Overtime for Nurses.

Instructor Michael M. Evans M.S.N., MS.Ed., RN, ACNS, CMSRN, CNE, and PSWS assistant chief academic officer organized the student presentation event. In 2012, he redesigned the Nursing 200W course to include blogs, discussion forums and poster presentations.
