The first ever Campus Pride Day, which was held on Sept. 3, was a huge success, with close to 100 faculty, staff and students participating.
The event was suggested by Chancellor Marwan Wafa as a way to bring the campus community together to help beautify and increase pride in the campus.
The campus provided supplies to the volunteers who raked, swept, cleaned, weeded and mulched all areas on the campus, from the upper parking lots, down to the Multi-Purpose Building and the grounds behind it.
Campus retirees also stopped by to lend a hand. Among them were former Director of Academic Affairs K. Bruce Sherbine and his wife Patty; Dr. Rich and Joette Dempsey; former librarian Richard Fitzsimmons; Dr. John Baildon and his wife, Rachel; and Sue Harper.
Despite the 90 degree heat and a couple of rain showers, everyone stayed on task and in a festive mood.
