Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Emily Glodzik, a financial assistant in the campus Bursar's Office, is the October Employee of the Month.
In her nomination, campus Financial Officer Kim Bogdan wrote: "Emily goes above and beyond when interacting with students. She never lets a student leave the Bursar's Office unless she feels they understand their next steps. She is always willing to collaborate with other departments and takes initiative when she sees issues to try and alleviate them for the future."
"One of her biggest accomplishments over the summer was developing the Service Excellence modules, which she took a step further by placing them in Canvas, and is currently designing a badge for those who complete the modules. She did all of this with little to no direction."
Director of Enrollment Management Sandy Feather stated: "Emily goes above and beyond to explain details to our students about billing; she even developed a Q & A at our New Student Orientation and gave out candy to the winners. In addition, I have worked with her on the web and customer service badges and she takes the time to help you understand the material. These are activities that she does out of the goodness of collaboration."
The Employee of the Month recognition was initiated in 2016 by Wafa as a way of distinguishing staff members who "go above and beyond the call of duty" in serving Penn State Scranton.
Congratulations Emily!
