
Penn State Scranton Student Government President Gavan Quimby at this year's Student Recognition Dinner, which honors the achievements of students,student clubs and organizations, and staff and faculty throughout the academic year.
DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State Scranton celebrated the achievements of its student leaders, clubs and organizations at the annual Student Recognition Dinner, which honors students for their leadership, engagement and service to the campus community.
Justin Dorneman, class of 2024 in corporate communications, served as keynote speaker and shared his experiences as a student leader and how his involvement on campus transformed him into the professional he is today. He encouraged the students at the dinner to continue striving for excellence and making meaningful impacts within the campus and local communities.

2025 Student Awards and Honorees
Lauren Sharpe received the Eric A. and Josephine S. Walker Award, which is given to the student who has most improved the reputation of the University through extracurricular activities.
Gavan Quimby received the Patrick J. Rose Award for Excellence in Student Leadership and Service, which recognizes students who have excelled in leadership and service to the campus community.
Halle O’Neil received the Penn State Alumni Association Greater Scranton Chapter’s Pride of the Lions Award, which recognizes a student who qualities of leadership, scholarship, citizenship and character have positively influenced fellow students.
