Accepted Students

Congratulations! You did it! You got accepted to Penn State University.

You've been accepted to PSU. Be proud and celebrate. When you’re done, we have a little more work for you to do, including accepting your admission offer and completing some other University requirements. We know you have a lot to consider as you make this important decision, and we are here to help you each step of the way. Whether you are thinking about your options or have already committed to Penn State, the following information will provide next steps in the enrollment process.

ready to accept

What's next?

If you plan to attend you must complete the next steps in the enrollment process:

1. You have been admitted.

Upon receipt of a completed application and transcripts, Penn State will offer admission to all qualified applicants. If an offer is not made, you should not assume that your options are closed, contact the Admissions Office to explore your options.

2. Submit the FAFSA.

You can access the FAFSA online at fafsa.gov after October 1. The priority filing deadline for Penn State is December 1, but students can still send in their FAFSA after this date. Students begin to receive their aid award notifications in early February. More information: Office of Student Aid website. International students do not need to provide a FAFSA and are not eligible for federal student aid.

Newly admitted students and their family members who have received their financial aid package are invited to register for a virtual one-on-one appointment with a Penn State Scranton Financial Aid Counselor.

3. Hold your spot. Accept the offer.

Officially accepting your admission offer tells the University that you intend to enroll. Login to your MyPennState profile and follow the link to “Accept Your Offer of Admission” and pay the $230 enrollment fee. Please Note: We request students accept their offer by May 15 for summer/fall semester, and December 20 for the spring semester, at any campus.
