After suffering a debilitating injury during his service in Afghanistan that required a medical retirement from the Army, Zimmerman has rallied -- pursuing his dream of becoming a nurse and completing a 10K marathon.
Not your typical, traditional college student, nor your typical adult learner, honors nursing student Jessica Kehl has overcome a multitude of personal challenges over the course of many years on her path to Penn State Scranton.
On Sunday, as THON 2019 came to a close, Penn State Scranton's dancers and supporters who were at the Bryce Jordan Center, learned that not only had the campus broken last year’s record for the amount of money raised, but that Penn State Scranton was one of the Top Ten Commonwealth Campus THON fundraisers.
Students from Penn State Worthington Scranton joined over 100 more from five other Penn State campuses and spent their spring break on Texas’ Gulf Coast, helping to clean up communities still struggling through the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
In May, 1976, African American artist Oliver LaGrone, Penn State's Artist-in-Residence at the time, created two sculptures for Penn State Worthington Scranton. Those pieces have been inspiring awe and curiosity for visitors and students alike for the past 40 years.
