APICS® - Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM®)
The APICS®-CPIM® is the global standard education credential program of the Association of Supply Chain Management, ASCM.
Every ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system uses business rules originating from CPIM's® body of knowledge. People with the APICS®-CPIM®, credential are highly sought after professionals in the manufacturing and supply chain industries.
CPIM® Overview
The CPIM® designation (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) is the global standard of expertise for operations professionals involved in purchasing, planning, production, finance, marketing, sales, engineering, quality, and shipping/receiving.
The CPIM® program, provides professionals with the skill set necessary to understand and manage the integration and coordination of activities within today’s increasingly intricate supply chains, and prepares them to take the CPIM® certification exam.
Two-part Certification Prep Course
To receive your APICS®-CPIM® certification you will need to take the two-part certification prep program which includes: 72 hours of instruction plus access to APICS® online and Penn State online learning materials, practice tests and exam review. Program is taught by Penn State approved and APICS® certified instructors. These courses are being offered in collaboration with other campuses of Penn State thru video link, Zoom and online platforms, classes are originated at Penn State Scranton.
Part 1: APICS®-CPIM® Program
This module covers basic concepts in managing the complete flow of materials that represents a supply chain from suppliers to customers. Supply chain concepts, basic terminology and relationships among activities in the supply chain are introduced. This course is the prerequisite for APICS® CPIM® Module II.

Part 2: APICS®-CPIM® Program
This module contains information on the following topics: Strategic Management of Resources, Master Planning of Resources, Detailed Scheduling and Planning, and Execution and Control of Operations. Topics covered will help students prepare to take the CPIM® Part 2 exam. These topics, in conjunction with Module I, comprise the APICS® CPIM® Test Prep Program.

APICS® Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP®)
The APICS® Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP®) program will help you develop into a supply chain leader who can create and execute a supply chain strategy that meets customer needs, reduces costs, and increases profits.
With the APICS® CSCP® designation, you'll increase your value to employers who know that a well-run supply chain is a key component of a forward-looking and competitive enterprise.
CSCP® Overview
The CSCP® takes a broad view of the field, extending beyond internal operations to encompass the entire supply chain—from the supplier, through the company, to the end consumer. The program provides professionals with the skill set necessary to understand and manage the integration and coordination of activities within today’s increasingly intricate supply chains.
This is an instructor-led comprehensive professional development and exam preparation program based on the current APICS® CSCP® Exam Content Manual. This comprehensive training program combines print materials with interactive web-based study tools to provide a customized learning experience.
Eligibility for CSCP®
The APICS® CSCP® examination is available to individuals who have relevant work experience and education. To be eligible for the exam, a candidate must meet one of the following criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus two years of related business experience
- CPIM®, CFPIM®, CIRM®, or CPM® designation plus two years of related business experience
- Five years of related business experience.
The APICS® Certified Supply Chain Professional designation is earned by passing a separate certification exam. Prior to registering for the exam, candidates must apply for eligibility.

APICS® Certified in Logistics Transportation and Distribution (CLTD®)
Manage the performance of your supply chain and position yourself for success with a Certification in Logistics Transportation and Distribution (CLTD®.)
CLTD® Overview
Meet today’s demands in the transportation and distribution field of supply chain management. This program is designed for traffic managers, logistics managers, warehouse operations and district managers and reverse logistic managers. Length of the program generally consists of 40 instructional hours.
